If you notice you won, and the dice are out, and you don't want to stick your hands out there to be hit by the dice, tell the dealer how much you want in the Field, and the bet will be resolved after the roll. If you accidentally leave money in the Field and another roll goes by, it's considered a bet and will be paid or taken. Stacking it up lets the dealer know you acknowledged you won and want to let it all ride. If you want to let it ride, then stack it up put your winnings on top of the original bet. If you won, then you can pick up your winnings. When you make a Field bet, you don't need to tell the dealer, just put the money in the Field, and the dealer will pay or take it after the roll. The Field is a self-service bet meaning that you must take care of it yourself.
